Live to LEARN

The peak of success is equivalent to the depth of gratitude.

Almost every person in this world desires success in life. It is the goal of every individual with dreams and aspirations. A status where things seem to be cozy and brilliant. An achievement where popularity comes along with. A desire which motivates a person to do better in life.

Success has a very broad definition which can only be specifically defined by the person’s idea of success. It can be connected to a person’s ultimate goals or dreams in life. It can be personal such as physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. I define personal success as “a status where one was able to attain a sound mind and body with a strong attachment of his/her inner self and to God “. To others, it is all about fame, power, fortune and to some, it is just simplicity, satisfaction and happiness in life. I won’t go any further in discussing each area of success because it will only take a lot of my time and energy. All I want to share in this article is how can we find the key to success in life.

To really find the keys toward success is to fully realize what success really meant to you. Whether or not you are successful depends on how you define it. It can be about your career, social status, marriage, family relationship, health, finance, romance, spirituality so on and so forth. There’s a lot of motivational speakers suggesting that the keys to becoming successful are commitment and passion. Your commitment or dedication to accomplish something will make a big contribution to achieving your goals. Focusing on the price will motivate you more to continue reaching it. Attaining success is not as easy as ABC or 123 it requires discipline and hard work a “never say die or try and try again” attitude. Your passion can be anything that simultaneously challenges you, intrigues you and motivates you. Contrary to the idea that doing what you love makes work effortless, a passion puts you to work. It’s what you’re willing to sacrifice lesser leisure and pleasures for. Seek it and where you find it may surprise you. Passion simply “doing what you enjoy doing“.

Let us look at these 7 people whom I can say made a great impact in our society and are successful because of their commitment and passion in their career.

GOURMET COOKING. Martha Stewart started with a modest catering company and parlayed it into a branded empire that focused on quality. This simple business principle set Stewart on her way to becoming the first self-made female billionaire. However, her most impressive feat was earning back her empire that she lost following a slew of felony convictions.

TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEUR AND PHILANTHROPIST. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg Through success and controversy, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been regarded as one of the most brilliant minds of his generation.  His commitment and passion in his work started at an early age and exhibited commitment, determination in his craft. As we all know he is the inventor of Social Networking.

While Nelson Mandela was so many things, to so many people, he left us with invaluable business, career and life lessons that will stand the test of time.  “Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will.” is one of his so many words of wisdom.

She, along with others of the Missionaries of Charity, strove to make the lives and deaths of those around them more peaceful and full of love. According to her, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

ENTERTAINMENT. Celine Dion’s success is staggering. Her career was launched at the age of 12 and the superstar has been performing ever since. The French-Canadian singer has recorded albums in both English and French and has racked up several hits in her decades-long career.
